ok guys im in the final process of planning and ordering my new rig
i have a problem im stuck between two video cards
the x1900xt and the 7900GTO

Well, the fact you can now "Fold" on the X-1900's and also "Game" with them, where as with the 7900 can "Only" game...for the most part, performance is nearly equal (Depending on the game of course) I think that makes the choice is perfectly clear...

Just make sure the board you choose supports "Crossfire" for future upgrades (And another thing, the NF-4 SLI boards don't OC worth a crap compared to the Crossfire boards!)

Apparently...you didn't catch the part about NF-4 not overclocking worth a crap...when your board limits your OC, on the low end CPU, don't you DARE whine about it then.

After all the time we spent on IM talking about Overclocking...I can't believe your going to get a POS Mobo like that!

How about rethinking this one more time for your old buddy, Crossfire is the shiz right now, last year I would have advised against it, SLI was the only game in town...one just has to look at the ORB to see what is the best around!

20.	12301	Kesker Now if you notice, right now it's kinda split, the guys at the top of the list are using 590 NForce boards, wich are just not available to the public right now..if you look a bit further down, you will see what people are using. The only reason I could see going NFor 4 right now is if you plan on going DX-10 with the 8800 due out in the next few months...but listen to this review! Pros: This board has tons of features that are really useful. Stock bios worked fine. Full legacy support and crazy chipset cooling, plus SLI 16x support Cons: Older chipset, not a big overclocker. I can't get my E6300 past 2.28Ghz. If you can, wait till the Nvidia Nforce 590 Intel boards come out ASUS P5N32-SLI SE Deluxe Socket T (LGA 775) ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail at Newegg.com This the board your going with? Notice the guys using NVIDA chipsets are using high end CPU's like the 6800 that have high multipliers, the don't need to "Wheez da juice" on the FSB like you wil with a 6300, at least upgrade to the 6400 or 6600 if you plan on using that chipset!

Well i dont fold that much on my main rig anymore! Just a few days ago i was going through this same thing untill i found that 7900GTO and i must say... Im really happy i waited and didnt jump on the X1900XT 256Mb verison.. The 7900GTO should blow it out of the water! And since im not running SLI or anything it shouldnt mater.. Im just running a E6400 on a ds3... Necro is right about the SLI VS cross fire thing tho! IF i was going to plan on running one of the 2 i would for sure use whats best right NOW and for sure i would say crossfire at the moment!




Overclocking the E6300 to a high fsb your not really going to gain that much at top end.. But the extra core speed! Like Necro said again... IF your going to go GTO and run a single card... make sure you get a biger chip And remember the lil northy can only take so much! LOL

Ok..well that is not TOO bad..but as I said on MSN..the OC of some those NF-4 board is no more than 350FSBish' sometimes...

6300 (1.86GHZ stock)
7x266=1860MHZ
7x300=2100MHZ
7x350=2450MHZ
7x400=2800MHZ
7x450=3150MHZ
7x500=3500MHZ

6400 (2.1GHZ stock)
8x266=2128MHZ
8x300=2400MHZ
8x350=2800MHZ
8x400=3200MHZ
8x450=3600MHZ
8x500=4000MHZ

Now you see why that 6400 is realy a better bargain for most people that are overclocking? You dont need as good of board and ram ot get the most out of it!

Plus the 6300's generally tend to not OC as well..they are the "Lowest speed bin" Intel uses..hence they get all the crappy cores! (They have tend to have more "Duds" though some do pretty good like the one Anad has)
