Default GeForce FX 5200 - "This device cannot start. (Code 10)"

So, I've successfully built my first computer, but the video card has an error: "This device cannot start. (Code 10)"

I've tried downloading the drivers from nVidia.com, and it successfully installs, restarts, and absolutely nothing has changed. Any help? Do you need any other information?

My setup:

Chaintech 7NJL1 Apogee
AMD Athlon XP 2600+
WD120GB 7200rpm & WD60GB 7200rpm
Gainward GeForce FX 5200 (256mb)
Crucial PC2100 256mb
Liteon CDRW
Generic DVD
etc, etc, etc

Possibly its set to "PCI vga card" in the bios instead of agp? Try poking around in there.

Thats my guess. You have in your bios graphics adapter set to agp.

Hrm, I thought only the ultra came in 256mb version (I would of got the 9800 pro 256 myself, if I could afford it) With my board, it doesnt matter wether the first display is AGP or PCI, my card still works. Might be what the other guys said, or a wonkey card.

What should I check in the bios? ie: different settings that may produce this error. I'm not too smart about changing **** in the bios.

Hmm, I had the same problem as you with the PCI bus...lemme check my post record to see if I can find it

Hmmm before searching, I kinda remember, it had to do with my chipset drivers since I didn't install the VIA hyperion crap but you have an nForce2...did you already install your chipset drivers?

[edit] Yep, it was the VIA chipset drivers, so I can't help.
