 |  GPU Fan > Standby? After 20 minutes of inactivity, my HDs power down as does my monitor. If my monitor is in standby, why can't my graphics card (and fan) power down?

| cause its controled by the graphics card and asuming you havn't moded it it will still run as long as the CG has power

  | If it bothers you this much, run it into hibernate, sorta like how laptops do for power saving

| Why worry, the fan on a GPU isn't very loud but if its a problem I would recommend Standby instead of Hibernate, everything will shut down but all the programs etc will remain open.
