Default Video card stuck in PCIE slot, please help.

My 6800GT is stuck in the PCI Express slot. I have an ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe. Ive tried a few times to get it out. It comes out first on the left end, you know, the part of the card by the DVI connectors, but it gets stuck at the right end of the card.

And I believe that because its stuck, it is causing the card not to power on with the rest of the system. Then my motherboard talks to me through the speakers and says: "system failed VGA test." Well, obviously.

What should I do?

You just made my day. Check if there's a clip, and that u lossened the screw. If still it won't budge give it a quick hard pull.

By retaining clip do you mean this thing?

yes that is the clip. Push ur card back in the slot in it's normal possition then u should be able to push the clip either up or down and hold it to allow it to come out.

I also have the a8n sli and have encountered this problem.
Here's what you need to do......
You need to push the tab toward the cpu as you pull up on the card.

The arrow points to the primary pci-e card slot. The white tab at the end of the slot needs to be pushed in the direction of the cpu in order to release the L tab that's on the pci-e card.

There's a picture of a card posted above that show's the L tab at the end of the gold pins.

Just take your time and rock the card out of the slot while pushing the tab. It should come out fairly easy.

I hope that explains it a little better......

Thanks for all of the helps guys. I got the card out and reseated it, but to no avail. My video card still doesnt power up with the rest of the system. I am quite puzzled at this point, and I would like to have a working, lan-ready computer. I have my stablest power supply in there too.

thx a lot.
