Angry Problem Radion All-In-Wonder 8500DV

My son's system hangs when using this Graphics card. ATI 8500DV ALL IN WONDER with driver version 6.14.1.6307 2/28/03 (even when just windows is installed with no additional programs) The problem is intermittent however it shows up within 10 to 20 minutes of use (sooner if the system is used at a higher resolution, sometimes longer if the system has just been turned on.)

I thought that there might be a number of reasons for having the system hang so I have done the following to date.

Replaced the system Board
Replaced the system memory
Replaced the case (includes new bigger power supply and 7 case fans)
Updated all drivers including ATI Video, Gigabyte BIOS and Chip Set Drivers
Reformated the harddrive and reinstalled windows 2k with service pack 3 and all other drivers.

The current system is as follows:

Windows 2000 5.00.2195 w/ service pack 3
Gigabyte KT 400 Mainboard model GA-7VAXP chipset drivers
- VIA CPU to AGP2.0/AGP3.0 Controller driver version 5.0.0.3441 12/27/02
- VIA Standard CPU to PCI Bridge driver version 5.1.0.170 8/15/01
- VIA Standard PCI to ISA Bridge driver version 5.1.0.170 8/15/01
AC97 Audio for VIA driver version 5.10.0.4010

Are there any other things I can try? I think I might have just gotten a defective board however, it could be a heat related problem but I would expect something like that to only show after prolonged or extensive use.

Please Help.

If you think it's heat related, take of the side panel and blow a big desk/house fan into it. That'll reduce your heat for sure. Could be a bad board. Sounds like the only thing you didn't replace is the CPU. Do you have another vid card to use in it? If you do, put it in and see if it does the same thing.

The 8500 isn't a real hot board, I doubt it is heat related. You seem to have covered just about everything else. RMA the board if you still can.
