Default Help please with Gigabyte 6800 GT (agp)

When playing DAOC (a fav. mmo of mine) I notice the screen flashes and I get terrain flicker once in awhile. To backtrack, I bought the card last christmas when I built this pc. My graphics were screwing up after 3+ hours of gameplay where I had to relog. I dealt with it thinking it was just quirky. Then 2 months ago the card just completely crapped out and I couldn't even boot. So I RMAed it, and they apparently "fixed" it, not replaced it. So 2 weeks into having it, I'm noticing these abnormalities listed above. I tried some of my friend's games (I don't play many) like GuildWars, Tribes : Vengence, Call of Duty: United Offense. Screen flicker etc in those games. Then I got 3DMark05 pro (registered) and ran it. 5-15 FPS usual in those games?

Just noticed I didn't list any system specs for reference, if anyone wants me to use a certain program to give them a readout of my specs just tell me, I am really at my wits end and desperate.

Flickering or artifacting?

A flicker may be due to your monitor refresh rate. Or if you have a phone or some other wireless device near the monitor (even powerful speakers could do that).

If it's artifacting and you're seeing ghost images then your video card is on it's way out to video card heaven.

The VF700 is an excellent cooler. I have it on a PNY 6800GT and my temps dropped considerably. I was getting about 78-80 on load, now it doesn't go past 55 i believe. Definitaly worth it

That's a good choice for cooling. It sounds like your video card was overheating, which is why it died the first time, and now is simply artifacting. I bet the better cooler will solve the whole problem.

Stock cooling is generally okay for non-modders, but for his to seriously overheat like that he might have other...issues... How's the air flow inside? Cables all a muck, etc?

Post a pic of the interior of your comp if you can?

If he does have other issues then I would suggest keeping an eye on the card after installation, just to make sure that its not getting the same problem again, Motherboard Moniter is freeware and will let you know everything from temps and voltages to fan speeds (i think).

Case cooling wasn't an issue, X-Connect PSU/rounded cables and good airflow, case temperature (using the sensor I have sticking out right into the center between the video card/cpu was reading 30 C, cpu itself reading 42 C. I left the window open and slept downstairs to be sure, booted in the morning case temperature was 22 C video card was 70 C (yea...big deal :\ )
Anyways I put a fire under Gigabyte's ass and they rushed processed my RMA. There is a complication though. The 6800 GT AGP version is discontinued from them. I made a fuss and demanded 1 of 2 actions: A) They FIND a mint 6800 GT AGP B) They give me the Pci-E version and give me a motherboard that supports it (my problem is my cpu is 754 socket, hard to find Pci-E mainboards of that socket)
My system:
Athlon 64 3200
Maxtor Diamondmax 10 200gb Sata HD
2x512mb pc3200 Corsair Value Select Ram w/ Vantec Ram Heatspreaders
500w X-Connect mirror PSU
Thermaltake SVA4000 Viking Case

My plee is this: Is it worth transfering all my parts onto this motherboard .

OR, I have the option of picking an equally specced AGP video card from their ATI lineup. Anyone care to shoot over to http://us.giga-byte.com/ and help me pick which is the best course of action to end this ordeal and still come out with the best system possible?
