| Apex Tech Fanatic | Hey guys, I got my 9700 pro today and I decided to benchmark. My score was only 12000 I am wondering why since I am using all the newest drivers and newest chipset drivers. http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k1=6454750 |

| Apex Tech Fanatic | Well I was using a Geforce 3 Visiontek card and I had 9600 score which was very good for a visiontek geforce 3 card. AGP 4x or 8x makes no difference in the age of Radeon 9700 or 9800 pro. The two are identical in preformance. It has been proven. In the age of faster agp video cards that will require more bandwith, the new 8x will do much more. |

![]() | 8x agp does matter, i get an extra 2000 3dmarks with it over 4x. also, after doing extensive benchmarking, it seems as if ram and proc make just as much difference in the scores as that vid card itself. read all the articles you want claiming that 8x agp does nothing yet, but i see a huge diff. anyone else that can back this up please do.

| Key Hoe | (edit button-> Click Delete Checkbox -> Click Delete Thread clickbutton) Ok, now that I've gotten that out of the way. In 2001, I think that CPU, RAM, mobo make more of a difference now that today's cards have really outdated it. And I don't think AGP 8x helps all that much for this benchmark since it doesn't have that detailed of textures. *Steps aside to let Tekx come in and say how much of a waste synthetic benchmarks are* |

Go play games, step out of the retarded matrix of numbers known to the world as 3DMark. A Quick Word On 3DMark ![]() AGP 8X does not matter, 3DMark detects it and automatically adds to the score because its not a benchmark, is a bag-of-bullsh!t. AGP 8X does not matter in video games today, this will change when games such as HL2 & Doom ]|[ arrive. Blackenigma, delete the double post, nevermind, I will have it removed for you. | |||||||||||||||||||

| Apex Tech God | that sounds about right, try some overclocking and tweaking. And i agree, the proc, mobo, mem, i really do think that makes alot of the diff. When i had 256 ram i was getting 5000 something with my mx 420 but when i kicked it up to a gig i got 5500. Not bad.

![]() | Sorry bout the double post, and yes ram and proc make almost, if not more difference in your score than the video card, but i also get higher Unreal 2k3 benchmarks with 8x enabled. You don't believe me, bench for yourself. I have recently added another stick of 512 ddr400 and get an additional 1000 3dmarks. I'll run 3dmark03 and Unreal benchmarks and see how that goes too, with and without the new ram, at 4x and 8x. I'll even put hte pix up for ya.
