Someons lying to me and its not nice!!

Ok so im am so confused.

The stock HSF on my Shaphire 9800pro 256mb card is crapping out, it happens. So i was shopping for a new cooler for it. I was looking at this http://www.frozencpu.com/vid-37.html. Now FrozenCPU says that its compatible for my card and so does newegg BUT artic coolings site and SVC.com say its not.

Does anyone have one on my card and does it fit? I dont mind modding it to fit but im not going to do a lot of work because i dont have the tools or space to do anything at the moment. It has more heatsink than the http://www.frozencpu.com/vid-35.html so im gonna assume that it will be more affective. I would like the option of OCing for later.

Well, I would go with what Artic says, since it is their cooler, and here are the specs:

No its not an AIW card. Some of the reviews said that it will fit if its modded a little but they didnt get into the details. Or newegg chopped it out to cover themself.

If you look at FrozenCpu that heatsink is Rev. 3 and the one on Artic shows a Rev. 2.

It only fits the XT.. the silencer 1 is the way to go..

Or get a VF-700, it fits anything pretty much.

I've got the 128mb 9800Pro and I use the ATI Silencer 1 (Rev. 2). Fits like a glove...
Should fit your board as well... looking at it's construction.

But i just have 2 more quick questions. Can I OC with one and do they cool the ram too or do i need to get ram sinks?

You could OC without one if you wanted to.

It cools the ram as well, that's one of it's awesome features. It also exhaust hot air from the video card out of the back of your case, which decreases case temps.

I'm a big fan of the Arctic Silencers on video cards. My X800 Pro would overclock like crazy with it. I miss that card.
