![]() | Ok iam putting together a system and iam working with about 130-150 U.S. dollars. 150.00 being MAX. Iam not a HARDCORE gamer. I play games likes Tony Hawk, NBA Live, Need For Speed Underground 2, you get the idea? I have that much cash to work with and iam looking for the best bang for the buck, its hard though because there are SO MANY out there and i have not kept up with the video card age. I WILL NOT BE OVERCLOCKING. Please let me know, thanks. |

Look at the 9800pro by ATI, or the 6600gt by nvidea. Both of them are great low-mid range cards.

Wow, perfect? Anyhow, what beachbum suggested will rip holes in your laptop's graphics card.

![]() ![]() ![]() | If you look at Anandtech's priceguide; http://www.anandtech.com/guides/showdoc.aspx?i=2606 You should be able to find a 6600GT or X700Pro for that price.. The X700Pro could even have 256mb... New complex games might not allow full shadows or high AA settings on a card with 128mb. Since we are talking about midrange cards, that isn't a real issue, imho... TDR

![]() ![]() | Get a 6600GT over a 9800Pro, don't get an x700Pro at all if you can get a (standard, 256-bit) 9800-based card.

| At-Whore | MY X700 Pro destroys pretty much every 9800 Pro i've seen. It's a newer design, with higher clocks, and way better RAM. Yeah, it's only 128 bit, but who cares? It still runs everything smoother.
