Try the very first slot underneath the agp/pci-express slot.

Or, bum an agp off a friend. (If you get desperate, swing by walmart for a mx440, usually around 20bux)

I tried the slots
and its a pci-express slot and all of my friends are agp
I went to best buy but they have a 15% restocking fee don't know why they would have that if I m the one wasting my gas to go buy and return.
Would reseting my cmos or bios or somehting help?

Not to try an make ya feel dumb or anything but are ya sure that card works, do you maybe have another pci card. I had the same problem **older board** with it beeping when i powered up,and no video. and i put in another card , both Diamond BTW, and the second one worked fine.

Also , ya might check in BIOS and see if there's a setting for what slot to get a video signal from, sorry i dont know the tech jargon for it but i know in some bios , there is a choice for APG or PCI etc etc

Your BIOS might still be trying to boot from the PCI-E slot, so when it can't find a graphics adapter in your slot, it just gives up and craps out.

I know when I buggered my X800 I had to set the BIOS to look in the first PCI slot to get it to boot from the old Matrox card I was using...
