omg 20k 3d mark

i was reading on the team 3d mark section and the overclockers.com forums and a guy there got 20k on 3dmarks2001SE with 2.6ghz and a radeon 9700 NON PRO--------ok, he said he had 2 VRs on it....anyone know what that is and how it would effect the oc on a card?

voltage regulator = VR, He did a voltage mod on the regulators and flashed the BIOS to a PRO level. You can pretty much figure anything that goes over 18,000 has had the BIOS tweaked and has a voltage mod. Most are water or pelt cooled.

The high point is you get a very fast benchmarking card. The low....a severely shortened life span, if you don't burn it out the first time you boot up.

The quality suffers also. When you take a Radeon too high it will run the tests, but there will be artifacting and blocking with the graphics. They never mention that. When someone is that determined all that matters the end score, not the quality of the graphics.
