  |  Out of the loop on GFX tech. I've got a moderatly competent 9800 Pro 128 and was wondering... What's a solid upgrade to this card that will still fit in an AGP slot? nVidia and their 6x00 series looks nice, the X800 series from ATI is solid too... Without going balls-out top of the line, whats a good upgrade for this aging ATI I've got?

 | A decent cheaper card is an nvidia Msi6600gt start around $140 US.If T2 were around hed find the best deal Not the best card but quit worthy of gaming.Ive had 2 in my sli rig oc'd to 571gpu / 1206 mem running 24/7 for 8 months .never had a problem

| Better than the 9800 Pro? I play a lot of World of Warcraft so some of those large PVP and PVE sceens can rape my FPS...

I'm an ATI-whore ... I had the 9600XT, even ran pretty well with BF2 (when I oc'd it), but still couldn't get over the fact that it was 3 generations old, and counting. Got myself an X800Pro for cheap, and plan to mod it into an X800XT -- if you read Alt. x800 pro bios thread, $Solid$ Necro, Ator, and I have a bunch of links and helpful hints for modding the X800Pro into an XT (can be done on many -- but not all -- Pros). You can find a few cheap X800 Pro's at ebay here. -godling

| At this point, I wouldn't reccomend ANY LESS than a x800 XL.. To be honest, I've found my x850 XT PE underpowered in two instances so far: F.E.A.R and Call Of Duty 2, -where I wouldn't be able to run any higher than XL's and 6800GT's* (another good buy, by the way) *anyway (1024x 4xaf, 2xaa give or take and still maintain 50 - 60FPS which I find to be the perfect rate for my roughly-45FPS-capped LCD).
