check out the 'arcticsilver.com" page, they'll break it down for you. Not only do you have to watch out for conductivity, but capacitance as well.

If you havent done so already it very advisable to clean that crap up with some Isopropyl alchool or MEK, very quickly before it has time to set

Oh hell yeah MEK. Man Scape that is some potent ****. I use it at work, and once spilled a whole bottle under my desk. I just about passed out mopping it up with a towel. I felt very nice for the next hour.

dimazz,
this quote is directly from the arcticsilver.com pages:

Even though Arctic Silver Thermal Adhesive is specifically engineered for high electrical resistance, it should be keep away from electrical traces, pins, and leads. The cured adhesive is slightly capacitive and could potentially cause problems if it bridged two close-proximity electrical paths.
remember when all else fails...read the directions

..ahh yeees, the 'ol MEK
Methyl Ethly Ketone
100% volatile,boiling point of 79.4deg.F. 23deg F. flash point
and that favorite one of mine auto-ignition @ 759deg. F.
at's some great stuff ehh. If you loan your best spray-gun out and it hardens w/resin, for laying up fiberglass, just a little soak w/ my friend MEK and BOOM good as new. oh yea gotta be good for a migraine or two...

Yep....I use it to loosen up superglue that is on threads. Have to be reeeealllly careful to make sure the threads aren't plastic though.

Try to clean it up. At least get it off any circuits. But it is low conductive, not non conductive. If you get the majority of the goop off you will probably not have any problems.

Good. I like to see it when small mistakes work out OK.

It says on the site to put silicon over the memory leads, so if you every do it again, do that first

Default eh

No, it won't heat up the chip since it is just on the metal prongs. The chip itself is what heats up.
