Default Low Profile PCI-E GFX Card for games X800 etc

Hi guys,

I have a low profile HTPC Case in my front room and it has a hacked X300SE ATI in but as you can imagine i cant play games.

does anyone know where i can get a new hot fast GFX card from .. that will fit even if i have to hack the top half off again. lol.

Cheers

the 6600 chipset is quite the tweakers chipset - you can unlock pipelines and overclock (however id recomend getting a fan for it to overclock). As this one has DDR3, you've got an excellent tweaker card.

There is not one card in the ENTIRE 6600 line that can have pipelines unlocked.. All you can do is overclock.

The 6600GT can be a nice card, especially when overclocked.

Measure just how much room you actually have .That would make recomendations much easier.Obviously you wont get a huge 6800 ultra card in.but there are some close options.///Edit\\\option. I know this isnt what you asked but after looking closer at your case ,and since this is a moding site.I'm going to suggest you "consider" modifying your case over the vid card.It might be a better solution ,at least you could get whatever you want.I wasnt able to find any decent low profile gaming cards.

As mentioned above you may want to consider modding the case and using a riser card to getsomething beefier in there. But I would probably wait for the next batch of GPUs/video cards. Maybe the NVidia 7600(?) will be offered in low profile...

I just found out the NVidia has a 6500 core that seems like a 6200 with some changes. I think that we will see some new midrange cards in the very near future.
