Radeon 9800 Paper Release

I don't care if it happens all the time, I'm SICK of paper releases for computer hardware. Sure, you may be able to get a Radeon 9800 Pro in an Alienware, but you can't buy them on their own yet. Has that stopped ATi from claiming that they were releasing the 9800 in the beginning of April? NO! With this track record (and this isn't just ATi, you can look at the Geforce FX as the most glaring example of a paper release gone horribly wrong), how long before I'll be able to order and RECEIVE a Radeon 9800 Pro with 256mb of RAM (they say that it will be released in April, I'll believe it when I'm holding one)?

I'm not big on eBay (I like buying from places like newegg, where I know I can get a replacement and guaruntees that I won't get ripped. When will it be for sale in stores, and when will the 256mb version be out?

Ive heard end of the month and the end of May for the 256mb version. Thats just what Ive seen on different websites. First part of June should see a A-I-W 9800pro.

Try gamestop.com they have the visiontek 9800 pro in stock (not very many though) the 256 meg version wont be out for another two months or so, msp 499

Well, that IS in canadian bucks... Oh, and paper releases are just a cheap way of saying you're gonna be late to the market

I'd heard the 9800 256mb would be out in April, and that there would be a price drop on all the other cards so it would be under $500. Damn.
