Default Why do I have to use Dell drivers for my GPU?

I have a Dell XPS Gen 2 laptop, and I was just wondering if anyone knew why I have to use drivers from Dell for it and why the GeForce Go 6800 Ultra GPU seems to be incompatible with ForceWare? Is it because the GPU is a very specialised model?

Its due to the fact that its a Dell OS. its been built to not allow manufactures drivers to work, most of the time. sometimes ive seen it work.

theres no proprietary thing of the card, besides the shape of the card to fit on the board. the cards are built for dells, but theres nothing on em to say only dell drivers work.
