Default 9800 pro 256

Hello all! Question for ya, I'm lookin around to see if my 9800 pro 256 pipelines are all open. If not can I open them and how. Or should I just use RivaTuner?

The 9800 Pro has all 8 pipelines open already. The only difference between it and an XT is clock speed.

RivaTuner is for nVidia video cards only. Try out ATITool or ATI Tray Tools.

Welcome to Pimprig!

While I agree ATITool or ATI Tray Tools are the choice options for ATI. RivaTuner does work for ATI also. It's just not as feature packed for ATI. RivaTuner will also let you softmod some versions of ATI cards which can be a plus.

Just to clarify RivaTuner is for ATI as well. Which tool is better among these ATITOOL, ATI Tray Tool or Riva?

I like ATITool best myself.

Ati tool has a nice "Auto OC" feature, while it was never very accurate, it does have a graphics artifacting test that is handy

I run the new settings for around 10-25 minutes to heat up the card, and that gives you a pretty god idea if the clocks are stable.

You can also fool with memory timings with ATi tool, never tried it though.

Riva Tuner has some tweeking options that are pretty slick too, but is a bit more difficult to use..try em both and see wich one you prefer.

You might like the to try the "Omega" Driver, it can increase your framerates in games, or improve image qulaity depending on how you set it up..it includes a pretty slick OK utility too with "Optimised" profiles for games and benchmarks.

Oops, my bad. I assumed that it would be nVidia only, becuase "Riva" was the name of an oooollldddd nVidia video card (from before the TNT, I think).

I prefer ATI Tray Tools. It runs smoother than ATITool, and has tons more features. Check it out at this site.
