Default Gaming Problem

I'm having problems with the graphics on GTA: Vice City that are affecting gameplay. The game played fine on my old Gainward 5200FX 128 Mb but with this set-up (inc Leadtek 6600GT 128 Mb) I get problems like details in buildings or terain taking too long to appear, objects such as benches appearing seconds safter I've crashed into them, cars sunk into bridges, even bizzare occurances I've never witnessed before such as a car on its two rear wheels, moving across water, where it should have been up on the bridge.

My graphics cards now is better than my old one I'm sure (it cost £70 more, two years later and can handle Max Payne 2 whilst my older one could not).

I'm not sure if memory timings (Cycle Time 8, Bank Cycle Time 11, Dram Idle Timer 16, CAS 3, CAS to RAS 3, RAS Pre 3) could contribute to something like this or if its a driver issue or what.

Lightbulb Kk

Try changing the games graphics settings down a little bit and see if that has any effect

Problem: Textures take too long to load.

Solution: Turn frame limiter on. If it's already on, turn it off.

Also, try setting the compatibility mode of the executable file (.exe) to Windows 98.

Problem: Textures are all messed up. Graphics are corrupted.

Solution: You need the version 1.1 patch.

Download Patch

The frame limiter was off - I switched it on and it seems to have fixed the problem. Thanks for the advice!!
