Default Can't tell if i have a problem...

Alright, i have a PNY Geforce6800GT that i got on November 11th of 2004. it runs great....until it met BF2...now, after of maybe 30 minutes of playing (sometimes even less) my game freezes with repeating sound...but every other game plays flawlessly (except for CSS which most people are having problems with now fps wise...). I can't tell if its a game issue, video issue or sound issue. my system specs are

AMD64 3000+
Geforce6800GT (made by PNY)
Audigy 2 ZS
1GB of Corsair XMS (2x512) DDR3200
WinXP x64 OS

I'm thinking its really the sound card since BF2 shouldn't kill this game too much, even on recommended settings (and no, i havn't tried playing on crap graphics yet and working up...)

My question is, "is my card slowly dying? or am i worrying too much and its a game/sound driver issue"

there supposedly is a fix for a lot of the sound problems, but since i have WinXP x64 installed on my computer i don't have nearly as quickly updated drivers......just a thought...thanks for all the help pimps!

BF2 is a resource intense game. Make sure that your motherboard chipset (AGP) driver is current, as well as your video and sound card drivers.

I think there is an issue with nVidia drivers and BF2, but I'm not sure. Try going to omegadrivers.net and downloading the latest omega nVidia drivers. That may help too.

I found out that it was a driver issue and semi-incompatibility with WinXP x64. I reformatted and just put 32bit windows on (got tired of not having any drivers, and x64 wasn't that much better than 32bit atm. My issue is fixed, and it was a driver issue with the Audigy 2ZS. BF2 uses an old ass openal32.dll and i had to use the beta drivers for openal32.dll and rename it, all is well now, and now i'm not worried about getting new heatsink for card or a new PSU (or a new card for that matter!! )
