![]() | I was trying to put together my computer last night and when I came to plugging in the PCI-E card to the power, I noticed they're of completely different designs - what appears to be the connector on the card is a row of about eight pins like those that plug into the PCI-E socket, whilst the connector that purports to be the PCI-E power connector on the PSU is an arangement of six pins in two rows of three. The picture on the PSU box shows a similar connector but with two rows of four pins - what should a PCI-E power connector actually look like? Edit: Okay, the PSU connector is correct, but what is _this_? Last edited by username#132; 26-June-05 at 03:08 PM. |

![]() | This looks like your card, as you can see it doesn't have a power connector, your card doesn't need the extra juice. [edit]: BA beat me to it...

![]() | Yeah it's a Leadtech px6600 gt tdh w/ 128 mb - I never even considered the possibility of it not needing extra power! I just thought some bozo (my long lost twin?) at the factory must have messed up... If this is the case, then thanks everyone!! Edit; According to this article it comes with a power splitter... according to my instructions it also comes with a power splitter. But according to the instructions it may have one or two power connectors so I'm not sure how well the instructions are matched to the card. Just re-read the thread and noticed I'd skimmed over Ryj's links - it's my exact card - how'd you do that from dodgy poor focus pictures taken on my phone?? You've all saved me a lot of hassle; thanks (stupid manual) Last edited by username#132; 26-June-05 at 07:03 PM. |
