Default Low 3D Mark scores

I have the ASUS GF4Ti4600 Ultra deluxe card. Its fine, but I am not sure I am getting the best performance from it.

Using 3D Mark 2001 I get scores from 7950-8300
Using 3dMark03 I have been getting scores around 1300.

My friend has a simular system to me, except he has a MSI motherboard, a 1.7 amd and Radeon 9700 and gets 3dmark03 scores of 4000. My system does seem to be underperforming, espically with the gfx card I have on board (not being overclocked).

Are my these scores reasonable or do i need to tweek my pc, if so, what is the best things to do..

My system is as follows:

AMD 1.4Ghz Thunderbird
ABIT KT7a motherboard (bios revision 3r)
512mb pc133
ASUS GF4Ti4600 (running AGP 4x)
Soundlbaster 1024 player
40 GB H/D

Thanks
Graham

I think you should be getting higher scores. I have 1.7 XP and 128Mb TI42008X and I get scores over 10,000. It's oc'd to 2Ghz for this score, but without any overclocking, I still hit 10k.

you will get very low scores in 3dmark2k3 since your card doesn't support directX 9.
as far as the performace i'd look around in your video settings set them more agressively.

my geforce 3ti200 128mb with xp2400+ gets 9100 3d marks.

I don't think your that far out of whack. When I had a 1800+, 2700 DDR and GF4600 my non-overclocked score was about 9800. Considering you have a slower processor and pc133 ram, seems about right to me. And although the kt133a chipset was great in it's day, it can be as much as 30% slower in games than the latest nforce2 chipsets. I wouldn't sweat your cards performance.

I got just over 9000 3dmark 2002 points using:

GF4 ti 4200
1.4 Ghz T-Bird (actually oc'd 1.2)
A7V133 (kt-133 chipset)
512 MB of PC-133
