| P-Hoe-lice | My advise is to wait and see how the new batch of video cards pan out. That way you can really see what's going to be the real winner of the group and get the most bang for your hard earned $$$. I mean with this new bunch of DX9 hardware coming out, why get last year's model. The majority of them should be out in a matter of weeks.

| Apex Elite Tech | i'd wait a bit longer and never buy video cards off ebay.

| Sam-Hoe-rai N-Hoe-mad | I like my Gainward 4200 just fine. I mostly like the VIVO (Video In, Video Out) capabilities (I'll probably be doing some stuff on video transfer, etc... in the future)... trust me...finding VIVO for under 200 bucks on a decent name-brand card is kind of hard to do. It performs fairly well, but I still have to admit the driver load was a real pain in the ass, and my 3dMark scores still aren't to my liking (however, I've only very slightly overclocked it).

![]() | Its supposed to have DX9 support. The 9200 is not going to though. It will only be 8.1 support. If i was to buy a FX card Id get the 5600 or 5800. The 5200 is basicly going to be the 4200 of the new line. I think it will preform on par with a 4600. BTW: I have a 128mb vistek Ti4200. I love my card but I want to run my games at a higher resolution with all the goodies turned on so Ill be getting a new card here within the next few months. id say go with either a Ti4200 thats bundled with some games or get a modded ATI 9500. Thats if you cant wait. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I think we will have to wait a little bit, but I suspect that only the 9800 Pro will be able to beat a 9700 Pro with a game that fully supports DX9 and all the eye candy turned on. The problem will be that the lower end cards on the 9800 series are all crippled in some way, and a 9700 Pro is set up to support everything fully. Like the guys said, best to wait and see what happens to the prices and see some more performance testing.

![]() | 5600 would be a Ti4400. You know im not saying that its equal in proformance to those cards just giving you an idea of where in the product chain they will be. And remember they are coming out with 2 version of each card. a regualr and a Ultra. The ultra models will have a little higher clock speed than the non ultras from what ive read and I think the ram will be fast nanosecond wise. |

| Apex Techie Lite | from what i know there is no such thing as a radeon 9600. there's a 9000, a 9500 and a 9700 but there is no 9600 to my current knowledge. the 9500 falls right in the $200 price range and uses the 9700 r300 chip in it.

![]() | I have an ATi all in wonder 9700 pro and i still havent used all its countless features I luv it ![]() I'd get the new line of ATi ards coming out soon Geforce FX will be forever known as "nvidias big mistake" as they will probly die like 3dfx did. IMO GFFX didnt make it cause nvidia is spending too much time on nForce, not video like they should be, but I gotta admit nforce2 is a fine chipset....remember nvidia is the name not nChipsetz |
