Do 6800's automatically reduce speed to save power when not in use?

Had 2 hours sleep last nite, sorry...I can barely spell my name ATM

If you dont have any luck by tommorow, I'll dig in and find out..My 6800's are still sitting in a box waiting on my FX-55.

It's been a few years now since I dabbled in NVIDIA, my last 2 cards were a 9600XT and an X-800Pro so I realy haven't payed much attention to the glitches they might have.

I know that alot of peeps complain about thermal throttling if you OC them, and there is some kinda fix

To save yourself from RMAing a lot of rather expensive hardware, I would take out one of those 6800GTs, and clock down your FX55, maybe take an Optical drive out of action. It certainly seems your 12V rail just doesnt have the juice for a system like that.

Make and model and power specs table form you PSU would be very usefull. I would also consider shelling out at least $150 on a new PSU in the very near furture aswell.

Oh i have a 600w noise taker and her volts dont flicker to much at all. error rate at like .01. I shelled out about 160 for her.

But yeah i will check my bios to see how many volts im giving the gt's.

Ok how do ajust voltage to my graphix card. I looked up and down the bios and i saw now option. The only ones i can adjust are ddr and cpu. But i checked the 12v rale and it was fine.

BUMP

Ok i got the core back to 350 but i cant get the mem speed to move at all.

I did some research of my own. The sli deluxe has this bios option called Peg Link Mode

"allows you to enhance the performance of your pci express graphics card options auto slow normal fast faster" I then flashed my bios to the latest version and looky here the options changed now its auto normal fast faster. I remember way back when i got my system that it was on "normal". It is on auto and will only run on auto. If i select normal or any of the other options the computer will freaze in 15 seconds after windows boots.

So the goal here is to get that mem speed back to 1000. we have about 500mhz to go plz help me out.

when i install riva tuner it inspects mY "hardware" and says my default is at 200 and the 500something i forget. But you say yeah so over clock it to normal. riva tuner will let me go to 300 and 900. and it dosnt change anything when i do it. so far coolbitz has been the only one that has made any change. Yet it wont change the mem....So i really am against the riva tunner.

I am hoping my problems will be fixed when i reformat so i will report back to you in 3days after my torrents finish if the reformat worked.
