Just a side thought: Without the cutout, were the fans to that graphics adapter almost directly against the side of the case?

Yes they were. I had originally cut a window on that side directly over the heat sink fans, but that didn't do anything.

| Mastah Overclocker | I have a Voodoo collection going too, not quite as many as J-Dogg, but the are some of the most legendary version to ever come from 3D-FX. They will end up in a K6-2 500 (Overclocked to 550+) for an old skewl gaming rig. It's a pair Voodoo 2 "SLI" Cards, and a Voodoo 5 AGP, the last card that was ever "Oficially" made before 3D-FX imploded and went out of business. I also have the box from a 16MB Voodoo 3AGP that was the first card i ever bought new. I sold it to a friend who sold it to someone else, and is probably long gone by now... And here are my new SLI cards, 256MB BFG 6800 Ultra OC Even though they are good looking and fast as hell, they still don't hold a candle to the Voodoo cards when it comes to the "Kewl" factor

| Apex Tech Fanatic Supreme | I don't remember where this photo originally came from but I found it on my hard drive. It's a photo of the graphics card out of an old SGI Indy workstation. *edit* Also, here's a Cirrus Logic 16-bit ISA VGA display adapter with 512K of memory. *end edit* Last edited by cpjlam; 12-March-05 at 02:30 PM. |

was it bottled air or was it an actual air gun? (or was it just a nozzle attached to an air compressor?) what pressure were you cleaning it with?

An order of magnitude lower air pressure would still be more than enough pressure to remove any dust from that card. This is unrelated to breaking the fan, but have you been remembering to use a moisture trap on your nozzle whenever using it on computer parts?
