| While I install the Omega Drivers + Radlinker I get an error. I'm about to go download ATITool. I've used Radlinker before, followed the same procedure, yet something isn't adding up. I've driver cleaned, uninstalled, and installed for a whole hour or so tonight with Catalyst and Omega/Radlinker drivers! Installed new 4.12 Catalyst Drivers with only ATI Control Panel and NOT Catalyst Control Center Restart Went into Control Panel > Remove ATI Control Panel Restart Install Omega 2k-XP 2597. Version 2.5.9.7 Installed MultiRes Windows XP software prompt twice selected "Continue Anyway" instead of "STOP Installation" Installed Radlinker Restarted Now I went into Display > Settings > Advanced Advance3D should be the place for Radlinker for me to OC the video card. This is the error I get. PS: In the screen capture is the same error, but I already UNinstalled Omega drivers, the only driver left was Advance3D which is where I get my error from. ![]() Thanks for any help guys! | I'd have to do a bit of research, but when I was modding my Radeon 9500 into a 9700 Pro, I had to download a hacked version of the drivers. I seem to recall that there was a particular DLL file that enabled the overclocking, and that this file needed to be saved & replaced with later driver versions, to maintain the overclockability. And since all Radeons use the same driver package, I assume my 9500 is no different from yours...I'll see what I can find. | ||

| It's cool Coel ![]() LoL I just kind of had a scare though! I'm so used to radlinker that when I used ATITool, adjusted the core/mem by 5Mhz, and clicked Set each time. I was waiting for little specles of artifacts that you usually see with Radlinker. Instead there was nothing so instead I tried to find artifacts using ATItool's built in program, and then POST beep?! Whaat?! My screen went black, and when it came back up showed my Desktop ALL OVER the screen in multi colored blocks! LoL it reminded me of the time I fried my AIW9800. Oh my! Freaked out. I'm all good now though, but I swear I'm not using ATItool again! I want my Radlinker!!!! ![]() | ||

| Hehe a similar thing happened when I fried my Asus GeForce256! Have you tried RivaTuner? I've never even heard of Radlinker, but RivaTuner has been used to soft-overclock video cards for years now. http://www.guru3d.com/rivatuner/ | ||

| No problem. I originally thought that too (only NVidia), until I found that RivaTuner can be used to unlock the 8 pipelines in my Radeon 9500. Hope your 9800 is fine, but I don't think you'll have a problem even if it's fried...since you've only soft-modded it. You only void the warranty when you do hardware modding. At any rate, I hope it's fine all the same. | ||

| Ah! You learn something new everyday. Crossing my fingers and hoping that this works better than ATItool. But I've gotta run and get showered. Wish I got more sleep! Thanks for all your help Coel, I've left you some blingage for trying to walk me through this. See you in the afternoon! ![]() | ||

| They posted an update for Radlinker already. There was problems with the radlinker on the 4.12 omega installer. If you go to the www.omegadrivers.net home page there is a link to download the updated cab file. Hope that helps you out. | ||

| It's not on the same page as the download link for the ATI omega drivers. It is on the first page that he has his site news . Here is the link directly to the file from his site. http://www.omegadrivers.net/drivers/...linker2028.cab Once you extract the cab file it has a setup program built into it to do the work for you. | ||

| Ohhh! LoL sorry for being a tad slow this morning. Been bummed out since I was trying all day yesterday to setup my network without any luck either. Thanks a bunch! | Glad to help. You should try RivaTuner though, it's got a wealth of options you can check out on your video card. It's a good diagnostic tool to see if the various features on the card are actually working, too, such as fast writes, what AGPX you're running at, how many pixel pipelines, etc...good hardcore tool. | ||

| I'm glad the patch worked for ya, I believe 100% of the users of this driver were effected by the DLL error in RadLinker, unless they opted for an external program like RivaTuner. Coelacanth has a great point with the options and real diagnotic tools you get with RivaTuner, you should really take it for a testrun. | ||
