Default msi rx9800 pro problem , i get a black screen

Alright i have a msi rx9800pro video card and had problems with the fan , so i sent it in to msi and got it back today and it will not go to the desktop . It starts up and flashes the windows xp sreen and then goes blank. I tried the original powercord supplied and also the floppy from the psu. I have a 600 watt psu so im sure i have the juice, my radeon 8500 works fine. I deleted all the old drivers and was hoping windows would pick it up ,but no luck. Does anybody think a fresh install of windows xp will help.

I had to try that when I accidentally told Windows ( from Safemode when removing a virus) to disable the AGP device.. To no avail, I had to re-install Windows completely.. Weeks later I started having worse problems -my AGP card started smoking! -After that, it wouldn't post, so I replaced the shoddy Dell-tainted Intel875P ( too bad huh?) mobo with this really slow ( booting) but stable & quick ( after startup) Asrock P4S55FX+, it does the job and runs my entire system OC well. I think mot19's idea might be on track, but if that doesn't work, it might just be the OS installation.. Best of luck to ya man.
