Default Best 6600GT AGP?

I know it was SORT of already asked, in one post it was just leadtek or evga, and in the other post it was never really answered so...
What would be the best maker for a Geforce 6600GT AGP?
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...130-220&depa=1 <-- eVGA
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...122-206&depa=1 <-- LeadTek
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...150-080&depa=1 <-- XFX
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...145-107&depa=1 <-- Chaintech
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...140-048&depa=1 <-- Apollo
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...135-156&depa=1 <-- AOpen
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...170-082&depa=1 <-- Albatron
http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/Produc...uctCode=326006 <-- BFG
http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/Produc...uctCode=321917 <-- MSI
http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/Produc...uctCode=322989 <-- PNY
I know that's a lot to look at, but i really don't know the difference between any of the brands, and which is the best... I know BFGs are OCed out of the box, but which will give you the best overall performance? If you take the time to answer this, thank you

Here's a review that compared many different manufacturer's 6600GT (but PCI-X) overclocking ability.

http://www.anandtech.com/video/showdoc.aspx?i=2295&p=15

Considering it seems most are nearly identicle between AGP vs PCI-X other than core position to allow a bridge for AGPs I think it's safe to get a rough idea by.

that's a pretty good review, and if i go by that i think i'll either be going with the
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...150-080&depa=1
or
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...122-206&depa=1

They gave LeadTek the best and XFX the second best, and as you said in the other thread, XFX uses the best memory and to get theirs. I've seen a lot of people saying leadtek is the best, but I'm going to look for some reviews on these 2 cards themselves and see which i think will be the best choice

Yah - my vote for the XFX in the other thread was misleading. Ram wise it's terrific obviously - but a better cooler is needed. I'm eagerly awaiting when I can afford my GPU cooler upgrade.

ADD: should mention since no one else has - that bridge gets hella hot! I put a thermal probe near it and got a reading of 60c!

I think I somehow sense I'll be upgrading to the new Zalman GPU cooler not too long after I get my Leadtek..

yeah i read somewhere about the bridge heating like a bi**h
well i just read a review at http://www.amdreview.com/reviews.php?rev=xfx6600gt and they pointed out something that i didn't notice... XFX has stock speeds of 500mhz clock/1000mhz memory, which is the same as all of the PCI-express cards. All of the other agp versions of this card are at 500/900. The article said at the end of the 2nd last page (page 5) "I think for the overclocker, at least for this card equipped with this memory, a realistic overclock goal would be around 550Mhz Core and 1150Mhz Memory." he ran tests on it using 550/1100, saying it was 100% stable and reached a MAXIMUM temperature of 40celcius.

ok i read a review on the LeadTek at http://www.hardwarezone.com/articles...09&cid=3&pg=18 they got it to overclock to 580/1070 for their testing stages. 30 more in core speed, but 80 less in memory from what the other article suggested. They said if you keep it at 580/1070 for your default speeds, to get a new cooling solution or make sure your case is very well ventilated. In the review for the LeadTek they went over the bridge temps, and the nvidia reference card ran at 68.3celcius and the LeadTek was down to 46.4celcius. i wish the review for the XFX that i found went over the temps for different areas of the card, but o well...

LW - I haven't taken my 6600GT apart to place a thermal probe in a reliable spot. But it's temps would probably be identicle to a reference design's. If you plan on getting lets say a Zalman GPU cooler, I think the XFX will do better over all, if it's stock to stock the Leadtek will probably be best.

"Pre Order Now. This item expected to arrive the first week of January '05."
Damn them... o well i can wait

That's pretty expensive for a vga cooler $39.95

edit: i guess the review for the leadtek that i read was wrong, it said it had a memory speed of 900Mhz but when i looked it up on multiple websites, it is also 1000Mhz

a question that came to mind is, will that gpu cooler work with the AGP version? it looks so huge that it will get in the way of the bridge

edit: if it doesn't... i read this in another forum i found from google -
"Artic cooling is releasing one for the 6600gt in feb 2005, its not long to wait and I havent seen anything on air to compete with the noise/cooling ratio..."

something very interresting i just found out...
http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/Produc...uctCode=321018
the image looked different from when i saw it last so i checked out the xfx website and they had a news update.
http://www.xfxforce.com/pinetechnotes/Fan%20Update.pdf
It now includes a new cooling fan and comes with 3 full games
Before it had no games as i believe? so i'm going to wait like a week maybe and see if i can find a review on the card with its updated fan and crap
