it is a pro, but its a 128-bit pro. IE crap. steer clear. it sounds like you have the option to get whatever you want, have you considered the 6600GT (aka 9800XT killer) they run a little more, 220 for an AGP version, but they are a much better card. http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...130-220&depa=1
now i know i just said 128 bit sucks, and the 6600 is 128 bit, but its a different architecture, and it is affected the by the bottleneck differently.

im having trouble viewing newegg right now, but when i checked it the other day the 220$ gts had only 128 megs of memory. is that the one your speaking of, or does that model have 256 megs of memory?

Yeah, don't bother with that one. Either get a 9800 Pro 128MB, or go with the 6600GT, as they offer better performance on $215+ budgets. What it lacks in video memory it makes up in operating speed.

6600GT's are not available with 256MB of video memory.

the 6600GT is also only 128MB, there isnt a 256 version, but it still performs MUCH better than a 256mb 9800pro or XT

EDIT
why thank you tek you beat me

sorry bout the post delay, the connection here sux, it wouldnt send the post

that card was second on my list, but i was staying away from that one because it has only 128 megs of memory. interesting to hear they dont have a 256 model, ill probly go with it then. anyone have experince with this card? its kinda hard for me to return it if i have probs.

PS: im also planning on adding a fourth case fan to get rid of the heat issue underneath the card, so my case should be running at the sam temp im recording by my processor, 86f
