i am pisssed off! i was happily pounding in my opponet in RA2 i alt tab to check a dl then my monitor craps out on me. i have a geforce2 mx. i tried the drivers but that made it worse! what do i do! also i dont know why but i have ASUS as my drivers im gonna go crazy at

640 x 480 pixles!!!!!!!!

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh HELP!

sry, i was freaking out, i have a GeForce 2 MX
the problem is when i set my resoultion to 1024 by 768 it becomes really narrow like 4 inches from left to right. im currently running at 800x600.

my adaptor is a ASUS AGPv7100 SDRAM v5.30vr

does that help?

Any chance you can hook your computer to another monitor? If the problem goes away, chances are you did fug up your monitor. I assume pressing the Degauss button didn't help? Not that I think it would, but it's a last resort before tossing the monitor...also, you could try the monitor with a different computer and see if the problem persists; further proof that the monitor bit it.

i havent tried to hook it to another comp but i will, however the monotr has NO degauss button its just that old, and i have no other monitor, i think ill just bug my parents for 1 hehehe

Sounds to me like you moniters just given up the ghost. I just had an old 15" Pac Bell moniter finally die after about 7 years, scare the sh*t out of me too, was in the process of putting a new system together and started smeelling burnt electronics :O needless to say i was much relived when i found out it was just the moniter! ^_^

I think I know part of your problem.

Have you installed your monitor's drivers ?

They don't do much, but they do tell the system what video modes are supported by the monitor. If you select an unsupported video mode, you can get really goofy screens.

yes i tried drivers, they made it worse .
however i got it solved, i got an old packard monitor now. that'll last me till i can scrounge up some c#.
