Default New Card

Here's what I'm thinking about..

Gainward nVIDIA GeForce 6800 "Golden Sample" $295.50

or..

ATI 9800pro "All-in-Wonder" $239.00

I know the 6800 would be much faster, but watching tv on my computer sounds sweet! It's too bad Nvidia doesn't make a decent multimedia card...

Would I be able to flash the 9800pro to an XT? Does that not work on AIW's? If it can be done then that's definitely a plus.

Get the 6800. Watching TV on your computer isn't all it's hyped up to be. Most of the times the resolution is crappy and the picture quality is terrible.

Is that a good 6800? I hear it overclocks great.

That 6800 is one of the top models. It comes somewhat factory overclocked if your temps are good. The BFG one comes factory overclocked no matter what your temps are like.

I just made me a little homemade video card cooler, I'll post a pic of it in a little bit. It's 2 antec 34 cfm fans ziptied together and it's ziptied to the metal piece you take out to install video cards. It pushes 68 cfm total, and I think it'll be pretty good.

I'd probly be able to overclock that card pretty good, my temps are nice. I think I'll go with the 6800 and het a pci TV card later.

I love my AIW. The tv looks fine even blown up to 1680x1050, and widescreen xbox rules. The 6800 will be faster though, it all depends what you wanna use it for.

After I scrap up the money, I'm going to buy the 6800 and then I'll grab the TV tuner and I'll be set.
