| Apex Techie II | hi guys i have aquired an V9570/TD/N/128M/A, NVIDIA GeForce FX5700, AGP8X, 128bit 128-MB DDR, RAMDAC 400MHz, Engine 425MHz, Memory 500MHz, DVI to VGA Adapter, TV-OUT, Games CDs, Heatsink & Fan, Dual-Display theres no cooling on it so i was thinking making my ohwn, dont know if the card is worlking so heres my quiston .... do i run anny risk 2 my other hardware of the card is burned or in anny way defect???

I wouldn't see why it would burn out. Unless it turned to molten lava or something.

| Apex Master Tech | If all it is that the card is defective I don't see how it would harm the rest of your system unless you're a big ape trying to insert it. You just wouldn't be able to see anything. Are you sure there's no cooling on it? Kind of odd to get a video card without any type of cooling |

whell i got it of a frind dont know whare he got it from..... the stock cooling unit has ben removed theres no apperant damage 2 the card.... ill try making a heatsink and and mounting that and a fan and c if its still worlking.... would be a shame 2 stow it in the trash if it is in worlking condition

| Mastah Overclocker | If the card has a short in it, you could potentially kill your Motherboard. I have and old K6-2 with an AGP slot..maybe you have something like that to test with (Or a friend with one) Your chances of killing good hardware is 50/50 since you know nothing about what went wrong with it originally....I have seen a few people loose CPU's, Motherboards and Power supplies testing "Suspect" hardware. Nobody ever throws away good hardware that new, without a reason
