I have been looking around and been pricing around online and in my home town

i have come across a Radeon 9550 for about 166.75 buxors, not sure if its with 256 or 128 but no matter

Was wanting to know if its a good deal or not, and i have been looking around the forums, found nothing overly bad was said about them

Just wanting feedback in general, ive got about 90 buxs so far saved up, so i just need 76 more buxs for it

for the price it's not half bad. I'd be really temped to say hold out for a 6600 ($180ish USD but rare)

however, seeing as its $80ish USD for the price I think its well worth it

for $88 us u can get a 9600np with 256mg of memory. Its better then the 9550, higher core clock same mem clock i belive but for some reasson the 9600nps and 9600pros OC alot better then the 9550s

if ur not ganna overclock then defiantly get the 9600 over the 9550, the 9600 is faster.

Sorry to sound like a sales rep ( but look at my age, I couldn't get a job like that yet) but, as much as you all hate Powercolor for making shoddy-aftermarket products of yore, thier 9800SE will smoke a 9550 senseless aswell pricewise ( roughly the same if not 9800SE being slightly cheaper in some instances), you must buy the right model(s) for teh 9800Pro performance tho. I say if you wanna keep away from Powercolor but still want more bang for your buck, you might aswell grab a slightly more expensive or equally-priced OEM 9500 or 9700 from newegg.

the 9550 is around 70-80 the 9800se from them is around 140-150. Theres a big differnce there, so theres no way a 9800 can be as cheap. And thees nothing wrong with powercolor in my expiernces, so that wouldnt be a problem. But like i said get the 9600 over the 9550 and if u got the cash get the 9800se.

The refurbished OEM 9800NP-version of the 9800SE with 8 pipes unlockable goes anywhere from $90-$110. It can be overclocked to perform better than a 9700Pro ( or just about a standard 9800Pro).
I haven't benched or played games with one of the 9550's, so all I can go by is the comparisons to the 9600.

ive played games with the 9550 and for 8 bucks more buy the 9600 damit! Its 50mhz slower on the core dood, and it might be 64bit which int aht case it would really choke nuts. Get the 9600np u wont regret it.

actually thats not the dood i argued with, thats turbopsi. Im just saying the plain facts, stock the 9600 is betetr and there is no way to argue it isnt. So get it
