Default How to play ps2 on my comp monitor?

I have seen this before but have never known how to do this...I have wanted to test my dreamcast or ps2 games on my monitor...I am pretty sure I need a adapter of some sort like a tv card...but does anyone know what I need to be able to play my ps2 games using my monitor? Also if anyone knows where I can purchase this item...it would be greatly appreciated.

Obviously from Best Buy, this will allow you to do what you want to do, but you need to hook speakers up to it. Check it out in the store to make sure it's what you want.

You could go out and buy a 45" Plasma TV, that way you wouldn't need an adapter

Best Buy or some PS2 mod sites may have the thing you are looking for.

It depends, i tried that with the ATI TV Wonder card, but it was incapitable with my old TNT2, so if you have a capatible vid card it should work.

I think my current Ti4600 has the ability to import video from a RCA cable, but i have never tried it.

What video card do you have?

If its like mine geforce 4 ti4600 you should have a cord to plug into the back of it with rca jacks on the other end(half of em are for input the other for output, and it does matter which ones you use for output). plug that in, read your manual, and you should be able to do it.

I have never tried, have seen output going to a tv but haven't seen input from a tv or ps2, i don't know if you need a special program to watch video or not, some one else will have to help you if the vid card manual doesn't help any more.

You have 3 options in order to do this: 1. you could buy an adaptor like the 1 at bestbuy. 2. you could get some type of add-on card for your pc or 3. you could get a video card (if you don't have one already) that has VIVO (video in/video out) like jhoop2002 has.
The simple alternative would be to get a pci add-on card that has composite and/or svideo input like this one.

It might be easier to hook your computer up to your tv, and make it so you can do both :\ just a suggestion

Well, he wants to hook it up to his monitor so he doesn't have to use the TV so that rules out your suggestion

i dont know how i just said i wish i could play PS2 on my comp and poof a magic fairy came and sprinkeled her magic pixi dust and there was my PS2 on my comp's screen.
ok i have an ati card.
you could buy a box that converts component to vga.
i have a HDTV, component cables, optical cable, and surround sound so i would rather play downstairs on that.
anyways i think someone should release a PS2 emulator program. too bad sony has those assasins that kill programers who try.

EBGames.com has PS2 VGA adapters for $50. Other places have similar items for $59, but from the looks of things, you could snag one here on eBay for about $40.
