If you have integrated video, you need a new motherboard and a new video card. I will tell you right now, if you have integrated video, you are just another BestBuy customer.

I will answer your question without bashing your purchase. No you cannot overclock your integrated video and if you could it would gain you much - there just not much power there to start with. Integrated video is great for its intended purpose - general use machines, not gaming. That being said I have a lappy with Intel Extreme Video and it runs NBA Live 03 just fine at 800 x 600 but thats where it ends, newer games choke hard.

You dont NEED a different motherboard, the on board video can be disabled and another graphics card installed without problems. Even the cheapest video card will get you far better performance. Spending $100 will get you decent game performance on most games as long as you dont want 1024 x 768 or better. For cheap the 9600 is probably the way to go - the FX5200 is a DOG.

I just assumed his motherboard didn't have an AGP slot, because most motherboards in retail systems I have seen with integrated graphics don't have AGP slots.

Even if you overclocked that chip to hell and back it would still be slow as sh!t due to hardware limitations within the chip.

Gaming just isn't going to happen on integrated graphics, to your dismay
I also suggest you get a new motherboard and video card...

You must have also assumed he had a retail system - as he didnt say that he did.......I build ALOT of systems with integrated graphics and Im sure Newegg sells ALOT of motherboards with integrated graphics. I didnt see any mention of it being retail.

if it's got an AGP slot get a new vid card (AGP slots are bigger than the normal PCI slots and you should only have one).

If your VGA port is here...

...then you have AGP video...if your VGA port is here...

...then you have integrated video...in which case you could buy an AGP video card.

ummmmm.......neither. it the original PCV-RS410, its not the other models like the studio or whatever. it only has PCI slots and no AGPs which means i cant upgrade for a good card like the radeon 9600XT Pro or the 9800 . that is why i want to overclock it to save money and time.

Those were shots taken from a PCV-RS410 review...
Oh well, you're just gonna have to deal with it, or replace the motherboard if possible
(never had first hand experience with VAIOs so I wouldn't know if they have proprietary components)

I don't think that's going to happen either. Laptops just aren't capable of overclocking much less the extra heat to dissipate.

Aren't there PCI 5600's around? It would be slow... but at least better than an intel extreme.

You can get a decent PCI video card, I think Nvidia came out with something called PCX, its supposed to even be faster than AGP with bandwidth.....do some more research on it
