Those are PCI Express cards. Only the new motherboards have PCI Express slots. I doubt those cards are backwards compatible, so they will not work with his motherboard.

PCI-X and PCI Express are different. i thought they were the same too! but then PCI-X is a older PCI backward compatible thingy.

Yes, I know that. What I'm saying is that the PCX line from nVidia uses PCI Express.

The best Nvidia PCI card availible is a 5700 and I think they come in 256MB versions too, top PCI ATI card is a 9200

If Nvidia offers 5700's PCI, couldnt you overclock that and have a decent card? I'll do some research on the PCX and PCI cards from ATI and Nvidia.
