Baddest Mofo VideoCard out.

Well Ive been doin some lookin for a while now on teh next(alreadyhere) gen video cards and Ive been loyal (mostly) to ATI since my first Radeon 64.
What I am wondering is what is the card to get right now ATI wise
Is the x800 as hi as you can get ?
Has anyone heard or read yet if say Saphire's or Asus x800 will be just as good as" Built by " ATI cards?
I see the Gigabyte x800 at buyXtreme gear for 438 bux0rz dddr3, 256 megs , wondering what you guys think if cash was no option to get.

I would probably wait for the Sapphire card to come out.

Although if cash wasn't an option, it would have to be dual PCI-E 6800U in SLI in a dual Opteron 248 rig with like 4 gb of this Corsair DDR I got today, man this stuff is the shiznet

Im going to wait on PCI-X, but I see at Newegg that Saphire already has one out . ANyone else ??

Well the fastest ATi card out right now if you can find it is the X800XT PE (Platinum Edition). If memory serves me its 550mhz core and 560mhz memory. They are asking ungoddly prices for them from what Ive seen. The regular X800XT would be a good choice and the X800Pro is a good card too. The X800Pro is probably the only one of the 3 cards that you will find in any quantity from what Ive seen on the web. The PE version I have only seen in a Built by ATI form. I have seen a Saphire X800XT and a Asus XT800XT. Here is a bench mark of the Asus that I have seen recently. its compared against a 6800 Ultra. http://www.theinquirer.net/?article=17130 . I have heard good overclocking results for the X800Pro if that interests you any. Hope this info helps some.

Edit: found a review kind of. Its a review of the PCI express 6800 ultra but it has benchies of the PCI express X800XT PE also. http://anandtech.com/video/showdoc.html?i=2096

thanx Maverick, I seem to be having trouble finding x800PE though , mebbe Im just dumb but I cant find one except on gateway.com for 500 bucks.they have a coupon code for 10% off to.

Don't bother ordering the X800 PRO from gateway. Even though it showed as "in stock" after a week they notified me monday that it was actually backordered, with no arrival date in site.
I have a 6800GT coming tomorrow. It was only 399 USD (various places) and should preform pretty well.

Noslak I would wait for more cards to come out and drive down the price.

On my X800Pro I get 75-100fps on FarCry v1.1 and thats with "Very High" details on everything.
