Default Triple Monitors

Right now I have a dual monitor setup where I am running two monitors through my 9800 Pro with the use of a VGA to DVI adapter on one of the monitors...
Now if I wanted a third.
would I just put in a PCI video card?
if so, can you recomend some good ones?
and would I need any special drivers?

thanks

You might want to talk to OMG_WTF_DUDE, I think he has 6 monitors going off of one computer. and no I dont think that you will need any drivers more than just the display drivers.

Just get any PCI ATI card. No special drivers, just set it up the same way you did for your second monitor.

Also, make sure that you have "Video Card Preference" or something like that set to AGP. It sets the AGP video card as the primary card.

Oh, and for the PCI card, it'd be best to use an ATI card, unless you wanna swap out that 9800 for some nVidia offering. The reason for this being, that you should only use one set of drivers and having two drivers from opposing manufacturers is likely to be an intense configuration problem that would prolly end with some of Chrome_Rust's percussive maintenance.

I think that kind of maintenance is more destructive than helpful.

That would be percussive maintenance.

I was looking at some online stores yesterday, and realized that I can put together a multi-screen setup for much cheaper than I thought. In fact, I can get a 9200 PCI and a few CRTs, and have a quad setup for about $275. Of course, the question then is "where the hell am I going to put four CRTs?!??". I don't have the room for that. LCDs would be nice ..... but that brings the price tag from $275 up to $1100.
