You can use the Omega Drivers, for they are modded drivers as well, and will unlock the card. What I mean by unlocking is, that ATI will lock the card, so people can't overclock it, and by using modded drivers it can unlock it.

I do things a lil different than most people , but some like the Omega drivers the best, just a matter of personal preference. They easier way is to do what Hawklen said, and just use the Omega drivers, since it has Radclocker and radlinker built in.

That's why I would rather use the Catalyst modded drivers, but it's up to you. Both ways will do the job.

Since you are new, Go ahead and try the Omega drivers, it has everything you need built in.

If you are not satisfied, try my way .

The Iceberq 4 is compatible with all Radeon cards from 7000 to 9800. The Iceberq 4 Pro is for nVidia cards. Since the 9550 is based on a 9600, I don't see any problems arrising.

They are on par with a 2800+ and an overclocked 9550 I'd say.

I'm suprised that nobody on this thread mentioned the DNA drivers, or maybe i just skimmed it too fast, it is getting late.....

DNA drivers are typically MUCH better for ATI cards that the Omega drivers... try them. Also the 4.11 catalyst betas are supposed to give a decent performance increase. On other forums, i've seen people get a 4k boost in aquamark going from Omega to DNA drivers.

DNA drivers suck, in both 3DMark and real world video games. Furthermore, I have stability issues with
any system I try them on, including the latest version 3.2.4.10. Naturally, they go unmentioned here.

Sorry, i usually do all my graphics testing on Aquamark, and the DNA drivers almost always tend to do better, and i don't have problems with stability though.... Maybe i'm special? And, if you install specific settings with them, like for Doom3, most people that i've talked to get better performance and image quality.

When you load the Omega drivers, do you have to uninstall anything other than the control panel (DVD decoder, multimedia center, etc.)?

Hello,

I did just that. Un-installed the control panel and all o the rest of the gear. But that is just me making surte i had no interfereence with other software. Then If you want you can add one item at a time to see the effect if any.
My 2 cents worth

Thanks for the feedback man
I wound up uninstalling the Omega drivers and reinstalling ATI's (don't smack me yet...there's a method to my madness...maybe ).
My current plan is to use ATI Tool to find the upper end of my card's capabilities (when i have some time this weekend). Once i have an idea of what the card is capable of doing at OC, then i'll reinstall the Omega drivers and go from there.
I keep poring over the OC forums trying to glean info and tips (and boy, do i get a lot...thanks pimps ).
