| heres the deal... installed latest Omega drivers for my 9700 pro.... disabled Fast Writes...... where before i couldnt touch 340 core / 640mhz VRAM before artifacting, now im hiting 355 core / 710mhz vram and perfectly stable and no artifacting??? is anyone aware of a substantial affect that FAST WRITES have on overclockability??? | ||

Celestica, a brand out of the UK I think, they are exact copies of the ATi board but with a better PCB board, so I hear. Im using a Vantec iCEBERQ4 rocking around 27 to 31 idle depending on ambient temp. Load is only 2 to 3 degrees higher than idle. I have been able to hit 605 stable, but for whatever reason I dont have it set there rite now *sets slider to 605* I wanted to get a 9800Pro cooler from tek but he just ignored me. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||

| i have googled but havent found anything substantial to support any claim that fastwrites being disabled does in fact aid in overclocking... what Tekx said was pretty accurate, however, before doing going to Omega and dissing fastwrites, 20mhz was the ceinling for any overclock and even then the weirdnes still ensued...about to cut this overclock's teeth on some Far Cry at max everything.... | ||
