Question Saphire 9800 Pro overheating

The card is still overheating after a few minutes of gameplay (FFXI, WCIII, ect.) New colling components and settings have helped, but not eleminated the problem.

Here's the computer:

Shuttle AN35 Ultra (dual-channel disabled)
Athlon XP 2400+
Mushkin 3200 512MB
Saphire Radeon 9800 Pro 256MB
-------
Maxtor 120GB @7200 (11GB free)
Samsung CDRW/DVD
-------
X-Dreamer Case with 400W Raidmax

Cooling:

CPU: Zalman CNPS7000-Cu
VPU: Zalman ZM80C-HP, slot under card is open
CASE: 3 intake@front, 2 out-take@back, 1 out-take@side
HDD: CoolMaster 3
*Clean Cables, all sleaved and tucked away
*All PCI slots empty
*Computer in clean and in a well ventalated area.

NOTHING IS OVERCLOCKED. ALL SETTINGS ARE SET AT A MEDIAN RANGE OF OPRATION.

What's the deal here? Is the set up wrong? Not enough cooling? When the air conditioning is maxed out, the thing runs like a charm. Any ideas? ( Other than rooming with Penquins.)

What makes you so sure that you are overheating? What happens after a few minutes of gameplay?

What it does after a few minutes of gameplay depends on the room temperature. At a chilly temp, it continues to function properly. At warm room temps, it crashes.

Disable VPU recovery and if possible direct an intake fan towards the video card.

Make sure the H/S is mounted properly, and there is thermal compound on the heat pipes. Sometimes overlooked.
As Tek said, make the side fan an intake.

Yup, what zenn and tekx said.

I have 2 back fans and the side fan blowing are into my case, keeps my components nice and chilly, the 4 fronts are exhausts, as well as the top.

Poor lil 9000 pro, overclocked to hell.
