Is there any way you can tell by looking at the RAM or other board features rather than just poppin' off the heatsink?

Take a look at the 9800XT PCB layout, if yours matches then yes there is likely chance, if not you have to take a look under the hood. I would look just to be on the safe side.

Ok, my card must have a poop R360 and that is why it was put on a 9800Pro. I can't run 412/730 stable but I can run 405/782

Anyways that is my finding after thorough runnings of Mother Nature and Pixel Shader 2.0 Testig in 3Dmar03

I wouldn't as I have know idea what results it would have. I know both core are very similar but it could cause serious artifacting and have to reflash it with DOS.
