Default How much do RAM sinks really help?

After reading how many people have used RAM sinks it has kinda got me curious as I have never seen a review that lays out how much (if any) they really help. Has anyone here compared the before/after of a sink install?

My system crashes if I pull the heatsink and rigged 40MM off my PLL chip.
In extreme overclocking, example: my 520FSB, the PLL heatsink has become a nessecity.
So yes they CAN help quite a bit, I wasnt able to pass 480FSB
before putting heatsinks on every friggin chip on my board.

As for RAM sinks in paticular, my mushkin heatspreaders are quite hot with the 67MHz DDR overclock they are running.

So, unless you've hit a wall overclocking your RAM, or probe readouts are showing it quite hot, there is no reason to get RAM sinks.

I haven't done a compare, but I know that if I do a hard round of gaming the sinks are pretty warm. That means the heat is being transferred to them effectively. Of course you have to have air running across the sinks to disperse the heat.

You'll see in this review the difference between no air and a good breeze.

Well, reason I was asking to begin with is there is a piece of equipment at work that I am slowly parting out for useful stuff (helps me and the company as the equipment will be lighter when they get ready to pitch it) that has these (for lack of a better term) heatsink cards. These "cards" are basically one big rectangular heatsink but set up in 4 rows of 5 if you counted 3 prongs as one sink and could easily be cut into 20 individual sinks.
This piece of equipment has about 20 of these "cards" or effectively, 400 RAM sinks. They are still unanodized too.
