Default Ramsink help?

ok guys, got my new 9800 pro, zalman is helping me cool it with ZM80C-HP+ZM-OP1 Fan. i want ramsinks now.....i cant decide which to get though??
These Thermaltakes are nice and inexpencive at 8.99 for 8. Or the OCZ BGA's which are gonna ge 24.24 shippin included for 8. i know that the 9800 has bga, BUT there is no sence in spending the extra money if the regular ramsinks will fit??? what do yall think??? (and remember the have to fit under the zm80c-hp)

I don't think either one will make any appreciable difference so go for whatever floats your boat. I personally like the OCZ but those thin fins may be prone to bending, but those will be the ones I get when my X800 arrives.

Wait until SVC has them back in stock or go with the OCZ Aluminum BGA Sinks, which will only set you back about $15.

Always remember to select First Class USPS when shipping from SVC, it's dirt cheap:

SVC also has the same copper OCZ's for 2 bucks more per 8 than the aluminum ones Tek posted, but those too are out of stock.

ive been lookin at those ones at svc for a while, and i never see them in stock, xoxide has them in stock, and svc only sells the ocz's in sets of for xoxide has sets of 8 (which i need), i like the thin fins, but i think im just gonna go with the thermaltake, just because neither are REALLY gonna make that much difference. but more cooling never hurts. what yall think?

I don't have the link anymore, but there was a dude selling ramsinks for ridiculously low prices. I bought 16 of them. Putwig turned me on to the dude; I don't know if he is still in business or not, but it may be worth asking Putwig if he still has the link.

I purchased two Vantec Iceberq 4's for my Northibridge and my graphics card, each kit comes with 4 ram sinks so it worked out perfectly to cool my 8 ram chips.

I've got all 16 that Putwig turned me on to working on two cards. Again, I don't know how much advantage they are giving me, but they are definitely pulling the heat from the BGA chips.

Why do you want copper for sinks? Copper is great when absorbing heat, but aluminum is better at dispersing heat. If you want passive sinks, I would advise going with aluminum with a bit of air going across them. Copper sinks will pull more energy (heat) but unless you have a better method of expelling the absorbed heat, aluminum will win.

If I had a few more Pentium 200 passive heatsinks I'd cut you guys a few sets for RAM. Only problem is unless u are running dual-channel RAM because of the spacing between sticks you cant run more than one stick, the RAMsinks are so freaking tall rofl
