You gotta love NewEgg

I purchased a Gainward FX5700XT Golden Sample card from NewEgg about a month ago. I paid $200 for the card. It was guaranteed to OC out of the box. Unfortunately, it died soon after arrival, so I had to RMA it.

I got the replacement card today and was doing some benchmarking for a review when I noticed that a program called it a 5900XT. I checked the box then the card, and sure enough, NewEgg had replaced my 5700 with a 5900. Still a Golden Sample card guaranteed to OC. I checked the prices and it seems the 5900 is now at the price I paid for the 5700, I imagine that's why they did it. Either that or it was a mistake.

Either way, I will be posting major Kudo's on NewEgg's site.

I've been doin business with the Egg for 2 or 3 years now and I have had nary an issue.

I'm glad things worked out so well for you, especially after havin all that hardware break in one fell swoop.

Eh, Im still pissed on the box with mobo they sent me with NOTHING else not even chipset drivers . I sent it back and bot a board at a retail store to get all the goodies and emailed the Egg to please dont charge me for restocking because I am sending everything back EXACTLY the way I got it , ALAS to no avail.

P.S. was a refurbed board , no plastic wrapping or nada.

I've always been pleased with Newegg.

NoSlak, they do warn about refurbs not having all parts on their site:

"All refurbished merchandise should be considered OEM "barebone" parts. Barebone means Newegg.com can only guarantee the item by itself, no other accessories. Despite what the product's description indicates, refurbished merchandise may not include all of the accessories mentioned on our website or the manufacturers. Newegg.com is therefore limited to the barebone part of the item itself. Please do not be upset or surprised if a refurbished product does not contain any cables, manual, software, drivers, fan, et al. Newegg.com will not send you any missing accessories, even if it is an essential part."

The Egg is by far the retailer who get's my hard earned...
Saaweet looking card too, I kinda like the idea of all the RAM on one side, stock sinks look like they'll do the job too.

Just a follow up note, I was shooting for 40,000 in Aquamark3 with all details high, and I just pulled 40,557. I have the core at 465 and memory at 835 and the card acts like it ain't even working. I just may play with it tonight to find out how high it will actually go.

Ok, been screwing around with this card a bit. Ran it up to 500 core and 940 memory. Pulled 43,715. I was able to run with the memory at over 1,000 but started to get some artifacts. I'll screw with it some more later but I have another project I'm working on.

Not too bad for $200.
