Not an nVidia, but... The ATi Radeon 9800 Pro is great. I have one, love it, and it's $207 including shipping, right at your price range.

Welcome to PR

You can get it refurbed from Newegg by Sapphire for 175. Then throw the other 25 into a zalman Heatpipe for it. Overclock city bro.

heat pipe don't look to shabby either. You could get a 256mb version for 100 bucks more and flash it to an xt... that'd be a bit outta your price range there though. If I had to choose I'd say wait till the x800 comes out. should be a prcie drop, or that's what I was told.

The guy asks for nVidia and all you guys yack is ATI........for that cash spend about $180 on a eVGA 5900se/xt. Works for me well - about 5200 3dmark03 and plays all my games decent.

Here is what ya do

take a Quarter

Heads--->best nVIDIA Card @ $200 Price Range

Tails------>best ATi in $200 Price Range

Either one will work great if all you are concerned about is being able to play games and not benchmark or very little for that matter..

I have my 9800Pro and love it and my bestfriend has the MSI FX5900XT and its really nice too..

Here's another vote for the 9800 Pro...

Tried & true performance & drivers, easy to overclock...and they don't cheat.

I totally agree- most of this thread is You can deffinantly get a 5900XT for under $200 - newegg has 3/4 cards with the 5900XT, 128mb DDR the most expensice is 192, the cheapest is 188 i think.

if you're lookin nVidia, go with the MSI 5900xt from newegg for ~$190 you get the s-video in (important to me personally, maybe not so much to you), performance good enough for gaming (if you were bench-obsessed, of course go for the radeon 9800 like people keep saying), friendlier drivers, and I've heard tell that it overclocks decently if you're looking at that (and why wouldn' t you be )

9800 pro, $200

matches up beautifully, if budgets and issue spend $100 and get a 9600 Pro and OC it
