That depends, how much output has it had through it? I don't want to buy something on its last legs. That said, of course performance is going to skyrocket across those two cards. I'd be saying the exact opposite if I went from my old Radeon 9000 Pro to the 5900XT, but that doesn't make either of us right. It comes down to cost and performance. I have AMD and ATI now, but I'd switch in a heartbeat for a good deal.

| All Ihave to say as a 3D Animator and Designer is 30fps all ya need is 30fps constant for any game to look and run smooth.. I really don't care anymore about benchmarks but all I can says is mt bestfriends 5900XT looks realy good and so does my 9800Pro, now if anyone here can see the difference without benchmarks or fraps runnin raise there hand... I am happy to see that members buy what the feel is right for them and would never tell then to do otherwise. ~Bob (Glad to see yal' are happy so am I) |

| no wonder ur gettin sh1T benches...u bought a piece of plastic that uses up space.....5200's SUCK my ti 4200 benches higher than them.....u need to atleast get a 5900XT or higher, just my 2 cents i am a avid beleiver against the 5200!!! Edit: sorry for my previous statments, i had just goten off of work, and i was tired, anyways you should have done a little more research on gpu's before purchasing a 5200, save up and get something good sorry again guys

| Yes instead of just calling them stupid why not help them by informing them exactly why its worse.. Man not everyone knows this technical stuff hell b4 I built my current (and still adding on to it) computer I knew nothing other than how to put em together.. So lighten up on the newbs thats why more experienced and mature members are modderators they have the patience to help them without bashing then from go. For instance if you bought a new home theater and told me about it i wouldn't go and stomp on it. ~Bob

  | OK I must say, I just got a 5200 PCI 128MB, got it for my GX200 which doesn't have AGP. I'm quite pleased with it, considering I upgraded the 200 from a Voodoo 3 2000 to a 5200. khell is right, 30 fps is plenty, movies play at 30 fps. |

| no offense but if its film its 24fps and DVD/HDTV its 29.97fps and if its anime, the net or 3D Movies like toy story its 15-29.97fps pending on format and transfer methods Like I said as long as it does what you want it to do be happy, for me as long as I can run Doom 3, Far Cry and UT2k4 at 40fps constant 1024x768 with eye candy on high I am grateful... ~Bob

| I use a Gefore 5200 althou i would like a new one it still handles the games good enough, and as for the ATI vs Nvidia i prefer to use nvidia partly cos nvidia seem to help develop some games and will probabibly be better to play those games with Nvidia card |

 | Would you call me nVidia target audience? I got a 5900 Ultra... I actually like this card a hell of a lot more than I thought I would. Runs anything, just hauls ass through it... isn't ear-bleeding loud, even under heavy load, and has pretty damn good picture quality. Use the quality Omega package or the StarScream drivers. All in all, I've used good cards from both sides of the spectrum. If you're gonna bitch about video quality, go get a Voodoo. They had the best I've ever seen. If you want the fastest out there-pay for it. It ain't gonna make a lick of difference ATi vs nVidia in the top of the line right now, from the reviews I'm seeing. And fanboyism, well, that's just dumb. I know why I have every part I have, and it's not blind following. meh, I don't want to rant any more, I want pizza.

| Their target audience is the stupid people that read "best plays on nVidia" So they think nVdia cards are better(And hey 50% of my graphics cards were nvidia, I go Bang-O-Buck). Thats just stupid, hopfully you didnt purchase your card with that idea.
