| Mystical Schwinn Guru | Go to falconfly.de and download the AmigaSport 3.0 drivers. Here you go...I'm using them in my Storm Warning mod in conjunction with my Voodoo 3 1000 and they work great. If you need Glide help post it here, I am very knowledgeable about 3dfx as many other pimps and hoes here at this site already know http://www.traumatic.de/pphlogger/dl...in2k_xp-30.zip EDIT: Forgot to mention all Voodoo 3 series except the 3500TV are covered by this driver. |

![]() | yes ERAD that's where I tried JDogg's link worked and the drivers rock I can now play Serious Sam with my son and that comp plays just as well as this one, which leads me to my next question while playing the screen on this comp is much darker that on the comp with the voodoo3 this comp has a radeon 9600 se (I know but I bought it second hand and dirt cheap) The monitor is on the brightest setting is there any setting that I don't see in the Radeon controls that might help? Also are there better drivers than the Radeon drivers like maybe some third party drivers like j-dogg had for the voodoo card |

| Mystical Schwinn Guru | 3dfx cards display images brighter than most other cards, I think it's an OpenGL issue, well it's not really an issue ![]() It's most commonly associated with Glide. Yes there are tweaked drivers for Radeon cards, www.omegacorner.com I have tried them on my Radeon 9000 and didn't notice much of a difference. I do like the overclocking options though .Have ya tried Glide mode yet it's so cool seeing the 3dfx animation logo in Halflife everytime it initializes Glide Mode. I think you can also get Glide wrappers for your Radeon and GeForce cards that let them display in Glide mode, some older games require Glide mode compatibility.if you installed 3dfx Tools it should be called Glide Splash Screen, enabled shows the animation |

![]() | what is glide mode? does it make the card run even better? edit: hmm when I click on the tools it just gives me the amiga sport 3.0 for voodoo 3 and there aren't any other choices so I guess glide didn't install?? the driver says it is provided by 3dfx with a 2003 date which is definitely not the driver I had before as it was a microsoft driver |

| Mystical Schwinn Guru | Glide mode differs from traditional OpenGL and Direct3d, it was developed by 3dfx for use with their cards. Glide mode is superior to OpenGL and D3D in that it allows higher frame rates and displays textures more accurately. I got smooth FPS on my K6-2 550 in glide but when I set it to D3D it lagged like hell. Originally 3dfx intended Glide mode for use with the famed Voodoo 2 8MB and 12MB SLI cards. When connected with two passthrough cables and an SLI ribbon cable it added 24MB of RAM and almost 150MHz of processing power to cards out at the time. SLI is called Scan Line Interleave mode, it's how 3dfx did dual-processing with the Voodoo 2 and the famed Voodoo 5500 and eventually the rare 6000. SLI allowed you to add two Voodoo 2's to your current video card. Originally the V2 was designed to add 3D functionality to 2D cards like the ATi Mach64. davidkruta recently sold me his V2 and I love it. Glide mode is standad, it is installed automatically with all 3dfx cards. To enable it sometimes you have to tell the game to use Glide, in Halflife under Video Options > Video Modes, under OpenGL you would select '3dfx Mini Driver', that tells Halflife to render it's frames in Glide. Not sure how to enable it in your game, most of the newer games dont support it and few games allow you do choose video modes. |

| Mystical Schwinn Guru | Copy and paste it into the topic I dont have MS Word. You dont have to install the Tools unless you plan on tweaking the bejesus out of your Voodoo ![]() The tools were designed for overclockers and performance users, I have cranked my Voodoo 5500 from 166 to 183 no problem, would go higher but its stock cooling ![]() Anyone who has Hyundai RAM on their Voodoo 3 and up is blessed, those cards will do 200MHz. |

| Mystical Schwinn Guru | Hmmmmm, never seen that one before. I don't think you should install 3dfx Tools, if it works it works, im guessing you have a registry error with Windows. It took me a few months to learn how to manipulate 3dfx Tools, how to tweak the drivers, and I still haven't figured it all out |
