| Apex Tech God | ok im think about gitting the 9800pro but i was doing some reading up on it an ive found a couple probs like the stock hsf on it is crap an it wasnt that much of a overclocker. i was just wondering what u guys think of this. the sources where i found it arent that good. an what would be a good hsf for it?

The saying 'consider the source' holds true here. The 9800 Pro is by far the best card on the market today, especially considering the price point. There are a number of aftermarket HSF's available (Thermaltake comes to mind) but it's a pretty good overclocker with the stock HSF. Once question...you already asked this in this thread so why the new thread? You're wasting server space.

| a.k.a., Frank Bullitt | I'm in total agreement with pimp_joose......I have an ATI built 9800 Pro and it's by far one of the best cards out right now..........and yes, you can get a decent oc with just the stock hsf provided that you have adaquate case ventilation cause these babys get hot........

One has a stock HSF and the other has a heatpipe. If you want a silent PC, the Sapphire one would be better. They perform the same in benchmarks. The only difference between them are the noise levels. If you really want to see benchmarks, you could check them out here. Btw, there is an edit button. It is there for a reason.

| Hoe-lier than Thou | Sapphire makes good cards, so does ATI.. As for the stock HSF, mine did 420 core / 740 ram; with a GPU waterblock I got to 465 core / 800 ram (those are benchmark speeds); thats on a Sapphire 9800np (hardmodded to PRO, same look and same cooler) |
