![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Here's another problem I got... I've got the latest drivers installed for my new ATI 4850, which is the 8.523 released on 08 August 2008. However, DxDiag shows that my latest drivers is 7.15. I've gone to the device manager, uninstalled the video card, then did a search for new hardware, installed the new drivers, but DxDiag is still showing 7.15 as the latest drivers. This is an issue because everytime I want to play "City of Heroes", I have to re-install this driver. If I quit the game, I have to re-install the driver again before I start the game. Ideas? Rob

| Sempr0n? | The current drivers are the 8.9s. ATi release these monthly; the first number denotes the year and the second number denotes the month. You can get these here: Drivers & Software The driver version is listed in the 'Information Centre' of the Catalyst Control Center, under 'Catalyst Version'. The 7.15 you refer to is actually the Direct3D version, and the 8.53 is the driver packaging version as far as I can tell. So, if yours looks like this, you're a-rocking and a-rolling:

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Did a fresh reformat and I was still getting the problem using the ATI drivers. So, I did some research and one of two things has apparently fixed the problem for me. First, I stopped the Asus GamerOSD application. The problem didn't occur until I installed that program. Secondly, I went into the system config utility and then selected the advanced options under the boot tab. I then selected both the processor (setting it to two) and the memory check boxes. Saved it and restarted. Since I've done this, I haven't had the error occur again. However, I've still got my boot problem. When starting from a cold boot and entering the BIOS, the only SATA drive it shows is my DVD drive. It goes to the Vista green bar, freezes, the hard drive goes crazy, BSODs, restarts, and boots up fine. Rob
