![]() | my friend had this ti4200 dual monitor vid card for a year. then it stopped working properly; whenever he'd try to open up a game, any game or application with graphics, the card would freeze the computer; after about 10 seconds of the screen's image decomposing itself into squares or just fuzzing out pixel by pixel, the monitor would shut off and then computer restarts. he gave it to me. now i stuck it in an old system - 950mhz AMD Athlon Socket B with AGP4x slot, 512mb RAM, windows XP - does the same thing. dxdiag's directDraw test runs fine until it tries to run with dx8 and dx9 hardware accelleration - it freezes on both of these, and sometimes the same thing as is described above happens. I can't run any of my games - not even CS1.6 Steam stays up for more than 30 seconds - not even counterstrike, just the Steam interface.... DirectDraw works fine according to DxDiag i have the latest drivers as prescribed by windowsUpdate... wuz goin' on? ~Hakim |

| Apex Techie Lite | What brand is the card? The abit siluro ti4200 was pretty much an overall dud. I used one to build a computer for a friend and had to send it back in less than a month. Seems to be the case with most of the others, giving out within about 2 years. |
